Licorice Allsorts from Wendy's Quilts and More

Material Obsession in Sydney, Australia sent out the last package for the Wendy Williams Licorice Allsorts Block of the Month last week.

So naturally I decided it was time that I actually started stitching this quilt before the next round of Block of the Months get released in July.

Don't get me wrong - I love this quilt, and I'm very keen to make it, but I just had too many other things on the go at once.  Even I have a limit of how many things I can juggle at the same time.

I love that this quilt ...

Owl Forest Floss Arrived from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Someone from the post office has been here three times today. First, around 9 a.m., a postal employee in a white van brought the box from FQS. Then the regular mail ran – they use their own vehicles for rural routes but that’s every day. Then later, a little mail truck from town dropped off...

The post Owl Forest Floss Arrived appeared first on Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara.

Market Bags from Jean's Quilting Page

I made some market bags using the Vinyl Mesh Market Bag pattern by Cut Loose Press a couple of years ago. I still had some of the mesh left, so paired it with some pretty fabrics and made them last week. I like them for gifting...they are fully mesh and can be used as swim bags too.
I used the commercial belting for the handles, but you could make handles yourself if you wanted them to match better. Not sure where these will go yet, but they are ready for whatever I decide!

handmade stitching extras from Charm About You

These are extras but could be deemed necessities. Each project is contributing to helping me stay neat and organised while stitching. I have been down the rabbit hole of flosstube videos on YouTube and decided to make a thread catcher mat and also try making a 'grime guard' for my new 11" Q-Snap frame. My 2021 cross stitch project needed a project bag to house the larger frame too (it would also be perfect for storing quilt blocks) so that's where it started. The slippery slope of making things to prepare to make things!

I searched through a lot ...

Happy to find at last a pattern requiring only 5 wool balls, as I have several batches of 5 balls in my stash.
Pattern found here : Click. Susanne's blog is a Danish one, although the google translation is a mess and I could rely on the numbers and the pictures (thanks for those close pictures!) to progress with my knitting... I am quite anxious regarding the completed result...

Long Time Gone from Pinkadot Quilts

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted anything on the blog....

One of the things I have been doing is making the Pincushion Collage Quilt by Laura Heine for a class at the  The Old Country Store in Intercourse PA If you are interested in taking it, the class is in February. It is such a fun project, especially for anyone who sews!

Fall is here in all its glory! I love autumn and everything is has to offer. Crisp cool days, sweaters, beautiful leaves, soup, hot tea and putting the garden to bed. While ...

After seeing many such bags on Pinterest and Instagram I decided to sew my own knitting bag.
I chose this lovely printed canvas from Elanbach which has a good firmness required for this kind of project. Very pleased with this first bag I will sew some others using plain canvas from my stash.

Until now I did not buy any new material. The purpose is : using all the stuff I have at home and decluttering.

On the last picture I displayed my new knitting bag next to a shawl I knitted and a cross stitch embroidery I achieved in 2012.

Making Gifts Using Clear Vinyl from The Animated Librarian Quilts

For those of you who may not know. Sewing with clear vinyl can be a troubling task for the uninitiated. I managed to make gifts this year using clear vinyl and I have a tip or two as well as my general showing off </p>
